His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today announced the launch of Bahrain’s first Government innovation competition (Fikra), which offers public sector employees the opportunity to put forward their suggestions on innovation and development of government services via a digital platform.
The initiative, which was spearheaded by the Government Executive Committee led by HRH the Crown Prince, was launched at the Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister at Gudaibiya Palace.
HRH the Crown Prince highlighted that the innovation competition represents a new milestone in promoting excellence across key sectors.
HRH the Crown Prince also highlighted that expanding public sector employees’ contribution to government services innovation is testament to Bahrain’s commitment to continue placing citizens at the heart of sustainable development efforts.
HRH the Crown Prince went on to stress that Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, guided by the principles of sustainability, competitiveness and fairness, continues to drive initiatives and development programmes that benefit citizens, while improving public services and Bahrain’s regional and international standings.
HRH the Crown Prince concluded by emphasising the positive role the competition will have in bringing together modern and fresh perspectives on a wide range of projects and services.
The Government innovation competition will be open to all public sector employees from 25 September 2018 via http://www.fdpm.gov.bh . The closing date for entries is 25 October 2018.
